About Drew
My name is Drew Monteith and I live with my wife and three cats in Greensboro, North Carolina. I began illustrating with pen and ink during my first year in Pharmacy School, and decided to essentially restart my education in order to pursue a degree in the arts. I dropped out of pharmacy school to enroll in Anderson University as a Painting/Drawing major before transferring to the Savannah College of Art and Design where I received my B.F.A in Illustration. I chose pen and ink as my medium of choice for the same reason I chose to become proficient in the technique of stippling… I like to challenge myself. The details made by creating value using only dots not only gives a look that is becoming rarer to find as digital illustration becomes more popular, but demonstrates the artist’s understanding of seeing the artwork as a sum of it’s parts.
